177 No dispatch of troops

Ben van Meerendonk (1913-2008), a photographer for the Dutch communist daily De Waarheid, photographed demonstrations against government policy on Indonesia in Amsterdam on 16 April 1949. The North side of the Central Station featured a slogan protesting against the departure of troops on the SS Groote Beer.
