63 National community
National Socialism rejected the socialist class concept and internationalism, and emphasized the national community. The recent experience of defeat in the First World War helped define the boundaries of this community by including or excluding certain groups. Visual propaganda was an important part of the process. This material was gathered by Annie Scheltema, the NEHA librarian at the time, on one of her trips.
