61 Erich Wichman

Italian fascism, which arose during the First World War, exuded an unmistakable appeal to certain artists, such as Erich Wichman (1890-1929) in the Netherlands, who published the journal De Bezem (1927). He appears here, together with his anarchist older sister Clara, flanking the Hegelian proto-fascist Gerard Bolland (1854-1922), who lectured at the Utrecht women students’ association on 15 December 1910. Also present were J. Prins-Werker, Adri Hoogeveen, Meindersma, E. Prins-de Jong, M.R. Brinkgreve, A. Bosman, and Fraenkel.
