Printed map, with Beauvais and Grandvilliers drawn and coloured in. These districts pertained to the Généralité de Paris of the Inspection des Manufactures, c 1750. Under Louis XIV, centralist economic policy, known as mercantilism, became a tradition in France, targeting taxation, a positive trade balance, and industrial incentives.
