In the Reading Room
Materials from the collections of the International Institute of Social History (IISH), the Netherlands Economic History Archive (NEHA) and the Press Museum can be consulted in the Reading Room.
A visit to the Reading Room and consultation of documents is free of charges.
For questions on collections and for assistance in finding information, please contact the staff at the information desk.
At the desk you can also request materials from the depots, deposit or return documents.

Facilities
The Reading Room contains reference works on social economic history, recent issues of journals, and publications by IISH, NEHA, and Persmuseum.
All other documents, books, periodicals, and archival collections are stored in closed-access stacks and cannot be browsed by the public. Request forms must be filled in to request documents.
Please submit all document requests from the closed-access stacks to the information desk.
Visitors may use the reastaurant on the first floor.
Researchers who need to spend extended periods working at the Institute can reserve a study carrel and/or a portable computer.
Researchers have access to computers with Internet accessibility. Besides the online search portal and the Internet, various databases are available, including the Dutch Central Catalogue en Online Contents (index to Dutch serials).
Researchers who bring their own laptops can use the free WiFi connection.
There is equipment available for:
. scanning and copying documents
. reading and printing of microfilms and microfiches or digitally store data
. watching video tapes, slides, and negatives
. listening to CDs, LPs, and audio cassettes.

When entering the Reading Room you agree with a set of house rules.
When consulting documents you agree to a additional set of rules.

The Reading Room of the IISH is wheelchair accessible.
Housing
The IISH does not intermediate in finding accomodation.
