Foreword
Marshall Lin Biao orders that to master Mao Zedong's thoughts, it is necessary to repeatedly study the many basic viewpoints of Chairman Mao. There are some aphorisms that will have to be repeatedly studied until they are known by heart and repeatedly used; furthermore he points out that in the Liberation Army Newspaper news items are often joined to the publication of the quotations of Chairman Mao, offering study to cadres and soldiers.
For the past couple of years the troops actively study and use the experiences that Chairman Mao has written down, which also proves that when there is a problem, selecting and studying a quotation by Chairman Mao is one of the best ways to study Mao Zedong's thought, and an easy way to obtain instant results.
To help primary level cadres and soldiers study Mao Zedong's thoughts, we compiled this volume Quotations of Chairman Mao, on the basis of published quotations in the Liberation Army Newspaper, which we added to.
Using a few careful principles, we did our best to make the chosen material suited to the needs and standards of primary level cadres and soldiers.
Every group, in organizing time for study, should consider the circumstances, the missions, the thoughts, and the work situation of the group, and select the relevant content for study so that it is applicable to the situation. These quotations are all based on the Selected Works of Mao Zedong, separate editions published by the People's Publishing House and published essays and expressions of political views of Chairman Mao.
