Comite international d'histoire social
The International Social History Committee (ISHC) was founded in February 2002 and continues the activities of the Commission internationale d'histoire des mouvements sociaux et des structures sociales (1951-2002).
At present the ISHC consists of representatives of five institutes:
The ISHC is an Affiliated Organization of the International Committee of Historical Sciences / Comité International des Sciences Historiques.
Sydney 2005
The 2005 world congress of this International Committee took place in Sydney, Australia, July 3-9, 2005. At the congress there were several ISHC activities:

At the moment the ISHC is based in Europe. The Committee wants to change this as soon as possible. As a first step it organized a conference on the future of social history at the university of Campinas, Brazil, on 14-15 August 2003, with the support of the local Department of History (Prof. Michael Hall).
