Willem Papenhuyzen, The fishermen of IJmuiden are on strike, 1924
The fishermen of IJmuiden are on strike repeatedly in these years, mainly for higher wages. Late 1924, the fleet does not leave port for a month. Willem Papenhuyzen produces a great many posters and prints for anti-militarist and revolutionary organizations in the 1920s. Later he is active as drawing teacher and landscape painter.
