Verhandeling over de historie, stammen, zeden en godsdienst der Arabieren, Zo wel voor als na Mahomet

Verhandeling over de historie, stammen, zeden en godsdienst der Arabieren, Zo wel voor als na Mahomet [Treatise about the history, tribes, morals, and religion of the Arabs, both before and after Mahomet] / G. Sale. - Amsterdam,
1742
George Sale (ca. 1696-1736) was an English Orientalist. He studied Arabic and produced a translation of the Koran (1734) that was reprinted several times. The work featured here was considered to be of such merit by the Dutch publisher of Simon Ockley's De verovering van Syrien, Perzien en Egypten door de Saracenen (1741) that he had it translated and published as an introduction to Ockley's history.
