'Centrale' collection
Timeline:
Archives are represented on the timeline with the oldest item in the archive as start date, and the most recent item as end date. You can drag the timeline with your mouse pointer. Click on a name or line and you will see more details concerning the archive, including links to the inventory and a live search in our collections database. The timeline is divided in a band above showing centuries, and a band below showing decades. Both can be dragged. The small triangle below center can be dragged to make the timeline 'window' smaller or bigger. [ close ]
Map:
Archives are shown on the map in their main country of origination. The numbers in the 'bubbles' indicate the number of archives from that country. Clicking on the bubble shows a list of archives. Click on a name of an archive and you will see more details concerning the archive, including links to the inventory and a live search in our collections database. Archives can be placed on one point of the map only, even if they contain material from or relating to many countries. The map itself is a Google map, with all Google Map functionalities. You can zoom in and out, drag, switch between views, etc. [ close ]
Details:
Archives are shown in a list. You can choose between sorting orders: - 'labels' is the default view: the name of the archive, - 'country' is the country of origination, - 'from' is the year of the oldest item in the archive, - 'size' is the size of the archive in meters. [ close ]
Search:
By typing in the search box, the records are filtered - as you type. You do not have to press enter or to click anything. The search string can be a word or part of a word (beginning, middle or end). Click on 'Reset All Filters' to clear the search box and see all records again. [ close ]
Country:
The main country or countries of origination of the archive. The country 'denominations' are not to be considered too absolute. Many archives contain material from or relating to many more countries than listed. Click on a country name to select one, click in the checkboxes to select more than one. Click on 'Reset All Filters' to clear the search box and see all records again. [ close ]
Language:
The main language or languages used in the material in the archive. The language 'denominations' are not to be considered too absolute. Many archives contain material in many more languagees than listed. Click on a language name to select one, click in the checkboxes to select more than one. Click on 'Reset All Filters' to clear the search box and see all records again. [ close ]
Date acquired:
The year in which the IISH acquired the archive. In some cases, archives consist of these original acquisitions and later additions. Information about these additions can be found in the lists and inventories. Click on a year to select one, click in the checkboxes to select more than one. Click on 'Reset All Filters' to clear the search box and see all records again. [ close ]
Person/ Organization:
Archives are characterized as originating from a person or an organization. Click on a value to select, click in the checkboxes to select more than one. Click on 'Reset All Filters' to clear the search box and see all records again. [ close ] |
